The dry distillation refining method involved reheating and melting crude camphor to remove moisture and impurities, resulting in highly purified camphor. Further processed, refined camphor was used in the production of celluloid, which had wide applications in film, gunpowder, nitric acid, and other industries. The building features large windows and monitor roof designed to enhance interior airflow.
